One More Prayer

God, Father of all mankind,
King, ruler of the world
Gave to his apostles dear,
lands, each to their own just care
James in his own land of Spain,
Shines out with a holy flame

*First amongst Apostles now!
Martyred at Jerusalem!
James became the holiest
by illustrious martyrdom!

Lo! James's Galicia calls out for our pious toil,
Marching on the holy way, road over her glorious soil.
Blending all our prayers in one harmony of endless song:
To Lord St James! To God's St James!
And Onward! And Upward! God speed our way!

A Pilgrim Blessing

I would like to share a short pilgrim blessing for all to enjoy!

Bendicion del Peregrino
Busca La Paz y Camina Tras Ella
A ti, peregrino de inmortalidad, que ya estas en el camino. Que el amor y la Paz de Dios te acompanen siempre. Y que docil a Su Voz, pases por la tierra sembrando el bien. Amen.

(Loosely translated)
A Pilgrim Blessing
Look for Peace and Walk towards it
To you, immortal pilgrim, that is already on the path. That the love and peace of God always accompany you. And that obedient to His voice, may you go throughout the world planting goodness.

El Camino Frances

Hi Again! This Camino Sister just can't seem to stop writing about our upcoming adventure! But first, I want to share our photo-log from our trip in 2005. We traveled El Camino Frances starting in Roncesvalles Spain to Santiago de Compostela....enjoy!

Not Quite On the Road Again

In about a month from now the Camino Sisters will be on their way trekking thru the Via de la Plata. The Via de la Plata is the longest of the pilgrim routes in Spain. It starts from Seville in Andalucia and runs northward thru the provinces of Extremadura and Castilla y Leon to Salamanca and Zamora. From Zamora there is the choice of continuing northward to Astorga and joining El Camino Frances and on to Santiago or diverge to the Camino Sanbres which goes thru Ourense and on to Santiago. We will be starting in Salamanca and you will find us on the Camino Sanbres. Here is a map of the route we will be traveling. We will cover 300 miles in about 30 days. There are 101 towns between Salamanca and Santiago. Ultreya!

On the Road Again!

Soon we, the Camino Sisters will be on another adventure across Spain. In 2005 we trekked across "El Camino Frances" starting in Roncesvalles, Spain crossing mountains and valleys to the beautiful city of Santiago de Compostela. By the way, if you have some free time visit my pet's blogspot. This year we will be traveling on the Via de la Plata. It starts in Seville and ends at Santiago but we will be starting from Salamanca next month. If anyone has any advice, comments, or wants to share their experience, please do so. Ultreya!
